The mat classes involve getting down and up from the the floor, so as a general rule if you can do this without too much difficulty than the class will likely be suitable. All clients are required to fill in a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (Par-Q) before participating. The classes are suitable for all abilities as the exercises can be adapted for individual ability. Please let me know if you are injured or if there are any changes from what is included in your form before each class.
Pilates is focused on posture, we start the class 'setting up' the body, moving on to a gentle warm-up while standing and then coming down onto the mat for the exercises. We finish with some gentle stretches.
Please bring your own mat (I recommend one that is 15mm thick to protect the spine) an exercise band and a small towel. I have some equipment to borrow or to buy if you do not have anything straight away. Other equipment we may use but are not essential are a Pilates block, Pilates ball (7inch) and a Pilates ring. Some of which I have available to buy.
Payment is required in advance of attending to secure your space in the class. 2024 mat class prices are £45 for a block of 6 sessions and £9 for a single session. The seated class is £5 for a 30 minute session. A block payment books you in for the next six weekly sessions, if 24 hours notice is received when you cannot attend a session I am happy to carry the sessions over. Where space exists in a class throughout the timetable, missed sessions may be used in other classes but this must be arranged in advance. Where a session has been cancelled by me there will be no charge and the session will be carried over to the next week and the block extended accordingly. Please contact me for payment details.
As your group exercise instructor, I am committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy sets out how I use and protect any information that you give me.
